01 / The loop

The whole journey, automated.

Every other AI receptionist stops at "captured the lead." Workbench takes it all the way through to the bank. One thread. Three steps. No copy-paste between five different tools.

1

Customer texts or calls

Joe answers in your business voice, 24/7. Captures the job details, dietary requirements, addresses, dates. Urgent stuff pings your phone in seconds. Routine stuff she handles herself.

Reception · Live
2

You draft a quote in 60 seconds

Open Workbench on your phone. Type a quick brief — what, where, any extras. AI drafts the line items grounded in your pricing. Tap send. Customer gets an SMS with a link. They accept with one tap.

Quotes · Live
3

Invoice posts to your books

Accepted quote becomes a draft invoice in your accounting system. Customer contact synced. GST handled. You review and send from your books. When payment lands, we text you.

Xero today · MYOB & QuickBooks next
Your choice of accounting. Xero is live today, included free for founding clients. MYOB and QuickBooks adapters are next — same one-tap experience, different books. If you don't use any of those yet, Workbench still runs the first two steps perfectly.
02 / See Joe in action

Pick a scenario. See Joe handle it.

Each scenario tests a different part of the product. Tap to send the message — Joe replies in seconds.

A · ROUTINE QUOTE

Asking for a price on a standard job

"Hi, how much to unblock a kitchen drain in Buderim?"

Joe handles a routine enquiry, gives a real price range, and asks the right qualifying questions.

→ Send this text
B · URGENT EMERGENCY

A burst pipe at 9pm on a Saturday

"Burst pipe in my laundry, water everywhere!"

Joe identifies urgency, takes details, and triggers an instant alert to the tradie's phone.

→ Send this text
C · OUT OF SCOPE

Asking about something the tradie doesn't do

"Do you do commercial fitouts?"

Joe stays in scope. No inventing services. No overselling. She'll check with the tradie if she's unsure.

→ Send this text
D · VOICE → SMS HANDOFF

Calling and having Joe text you for details

Call the number and say: "I need to replace my hot water system."

Joe greets you, qualifies the job, then SMSes you afterwards to capture details accurately — no mangled suburb names.

→ Make the call
03 / Example conversation

What it looks like, end to end.

A real (sanitised) exchange between Joe and a customer. Saturday night, hot water gone cold. Joe acknowledges, qualifies, books, all without you touching the phone.

04 / What's included

Everything you need to never miss a job.

01

Dedicated AU mobile number

SMS and voice on a real Australian number. Use it on cards, vehicles, your Google Business listing.

02

24/7 customer answering

Every text answered in seconds. Every call picked up. After-hours, on the tools, in the middle of a job.

03

Quote-or-book qualification

Joe pushes every conversation toward a quoted price or a booked on-site visit. Not just lead capture — lead progression.

04

Instant urgent alerts

Gas leaks, flooding, no power — Joe spots them and pings your phone the second she does. Voice calls try to transfer live.

05

Voice-to-SMS handoff

Phone speech recognition gets suburb names wrong. Joe acknowledges on the call, then SMSes the customer for accurate details.

06

One-tap MUTE

Want to take over a customer yourself? Text MUTE and the customer's number. Joe steps back for 24 hours.

07

Full conversation log

Every text and call logged in your own Google Sheet. Read it any time, share with your team, keep forever.

08

Hands-on setup

We onboard you ourselves. Same-day fixes when something needs adjusting. Direct line to the team that built it.

05 / Pricing

Simple pricing. No lock-in.

Mid-market AU AI receptionists run $300/month or more. We're $150 — half of that, with a quote builder, Xero invoicing, and a direct line to the founder. We're also looking for a small handful of founding tradies who'd help shape the product — at half price, locked in forever.

Standard

$150 / month
+ $400 once-off setup
  • Month-to-month — no lock-in contract
  • Annual option: $1,500/yr (save 2 months)
  • 500 customer messages/month included
  • Full feature access from day one
  • Same-day setup

Prices in AUD. GST not yet applicable.

Pilot bonus — Xero integration

// Free for founding tradies, locked in for life

Connect your Xero account and turn accepted jobs into draft invoices with one tap. Customer contact synced, GST handled, deep link back to Xero. You review and send from Xero — Workbench doesn't auto-send. The moment a customer pays, you get a text.

This is normally a paid add-on. Founding tradies get it included for the life of their account — locked in even when we commercialise it for new customers.

Optional extras

// Add only if you need them

Zone routing

For tradies covering wide service areas

Different booking calendars for different suburbs — e.g., Maleny on Tuesdays, Mooloolaba on Wednesdays. Joe sends each customer to the right calendar based on their suburb.

$50 once-off setup · No ongoing fee

Travel-aware booking

For tradies doing 5+ jobs a day

Joe checks drive time between your existing bookings and any new request before offering slots. Stops back-to-back jobs on opposite ends of the coast.

$200 once-off setup · $25/month add-on

Quotes & Xero invoicing

Looking for trial tradies

Describe a job in plain English — AI drafts the line items. Text your customer a link, they accept with a tap. Accepted quotes become draft invoices in your Xero account with one click. You send from Xero. We text you when the customer pays.

In active test phase. Working end-to-end with one operator already. Looking for a couple more trial tradies to put it through real-world use.

Free during pilot · Trial rate locked forever after launch

Zone routing and travel-aware booking: most tradies don't need either. The standard plan handles travel via calendar buffers — start there, add an extra only if your real schedule pain isn't solved by the basics. Quotes & Xero: pilot only, ask us about a trial.

06 / Who it's for

Built for solo tradies and small crews.

Plumbers Electricians HVAC & air con Locksmiths Roofers Glaziers Pest control Tilers Concreters Pool techs Mobile mechanics Handymen Cleaners Solar installers Fencers Painters Landscapers Carpenters

If your business lives or dies by the phone, Joe pays for herself in a single missed callout.

07 / FAQ

The straight answers.

Will my customers know it's automated?
Possibly, yes. Joe is natural and conversational, but she doesn't pretend to be human — and most customers don't care, especially when their text gets answered at 9pm on a Saturday. The alternative is no answer at all.
What if she gets an answer wrong?
Joe sticks to what's in your profile — your services, prices, hours, what you don't do. She won't invent things. If a customer asks something Joe doesn't know, she says she'll check with you and takes their details. Every conversation is logged in your Google Sheet, so you can see exactly what was said.
What about urgent jobs?
Joe is trained to spot urgency — gas leaks, flooding, no power, electrical danger, sewer overflows, anything that can't wait. The moment she flags it, you get an SMS with the customer's number, what they said, and what she told them. On phone calls, Joe also tries to transfer the customer to you live, and only falls back to SMS if you don't pick up.
Do I need a new phone number?
Yes — your service includes a dedicated AU mobile number, set up by us. Use it on your business cards, website, vehicle signage, Google Business listing. If you want to keep your existing number front-of-house, you can forward calls to it. Happy to walk through the options on the setup call.
What happens if I cancel?
Month-to-month, no lock-in. Cancel any time. Your conversation log stays in your Google Sheet — you keep every customer interaction. We deactivate the number and Joe within 24 hours.
Where is this available?
Australia-wide. Workbench is based on the Sunshine Coast and supports tradies in every state and territory. Works for any AU mobile or landline.
08 / About

Workbench is a service hub for trades businesses.

Based on the Sunshine Coast, supporting tradies across every state in Australia.

We build practical, automated tools for the everyday problems trades businesses face — starting with the one that bleeds the most money: missed customer calls and texts.

Workbench Reception is our first product. Joe, our automated receptionist, answers your customer texts and calls 24/7, captures every lead, and pings you the moment something needs your attention. More tools are coming.

We're a small team. When you message us, you're talking to the people who built it — not a call centre, not an offshore support queue. If something breaks, we fix it the same day.

No upsells. No lock-in. Just the work.
